Peace of Mind

In this crazy world, I found that having peace of mind are becoming a scarcity in today's fast phase era. Too much negative inside and outside home. Try watching news then ask yourself, does it contribute to your life, does it added values to you or it only serve as an information that goes to your ear and passes on the other side?

The bad thing about excessive watching gives excess residue that remain in your mind. If you watch good stuff most probably good thoughts stuck on your head.

Once that bad stuff stuck on your head, it's difficult to removed and you need real effort to replace it with good stuffs.

Peace of mind is priceless but there are things that should be done. Not outside but more in the inside. I mean literally inside. That is what you feed in your thoughts.

Sometimes we're so overwhelmed with different thoughts that it happens to be out of control. We haven't realized sometimes we're in a roller coaster moving so fast. It doesn't move us to places because it's running in circles; the only thing that can lead you way out is to get sick off the ride itself and see there's another ride you can take on.

These two boys are my nephews. See how they like the ice cream? I just love to treat kids. It's just 10 peso ice cream. If only a 10 peso ice cream could make an adult to smile and forget everything. How nice could that be?

But often nowadays even you had so much, It isn't enough and there will be so much more to ask. That's what makes people unhappy.

Without rewiring yourself with new perspective. Nothing will change. If you practice gratitude you will be so at peace everyday. Thankful that you're alive, your health is fine, you can still have an eye that see the sun bright and clear. Enjoy the things that money couldn't buy; these things are taken for granted. More often than not we still felt inadequate.

Typhoon just struck the country and most places don't have power, it's been 3 days since I wrote this unfinished article. It just reminds me of the simple things to thank for, like the power where I used to this laptop and battery I need on my cell phone. It's pretty difficult to move inside the house when everything is dark. It always reminds me that simple thing should be appreciated.

If these things can't make you happy I don't know what will. As the nature of human a naturally selfish individual; becoming a person of gratitude and compassionate requires an intentional action.

I'm gonna give you an idea what causes people not to have peace of mind. People seek what their egos wanted. Ego has different characteristic and more often it was mistakenly labeled as "I".

If you notice this "I" and its desire, you'll recognize that every time you feed everything to that desire; it doesn't stop asking for more. It seem that it doesn't stop until you satisfy it then it looks for something else. That's usually how it operates. It's quite never ending cycle.

I could remember when I was a kid. I used to collect "Gundam" toys. As I can remember I had five or more of the collectible figures. When I can't afford to buy new figure, I quickly get angry at times and felt unhappy. Even I get what I wanted, I'm still seeking another thing that could satisfy the needs for something. That's how a child behave.

If you don't met the requirement of that "I"; that's how it gonna gives you unhappiness, envy, feeling of something missing and discontentment in life. That "I" is not a bad thing but your awareness towards that "I" must be on the watch.

Now that I'm a little bit grown up now, I'm more contented on simple stuff now, like books to read and looks for some material I can learn from. Lifestyle I just want to stick with.

If you have kids, I assumed it's more on the priority to give their needs other than your stuff now.

The point is you get your peace of mind when you started to understand who you are and what matters aside from your wants in life. Your being is the absolute You; apart from your desire and egos.

You can still seek everything in life and get all what you wanted; just don't forget there is still a "being" inside of you that you need to know.

A man ask Lord Buddha "I want happiness." Lord Buddha said first remove "I" that's ego. Then remove "Want" that's desire. See now you are now left with only "Happiness".
