Don't Fall in to Hype

September 13 this year, my friend of mine reach me out asking if I can join her to attend a business seminar. She also had this particular client she just knew from social media. Her client is telling if he could check out the product that my friend is offering.

We already had several conversation about her client that seems for me too suspicious. Her client seems to be bragging too much his several companies locally and abroad. He had this so called hotels in major city and hotel near popular beach. He also joking that he was looking for a partner in life and he really needed that beauty product.

It might sound that he was super rich but that's where gold turn to tin. Upon travelling several hours with a ride from my friend's godfather, we were a little bit late meeting her client.

At first approach the client looks descent, suited with a black jacket inside is a long sleeve with a pair black leather shoe and on his hand is a catalog of BMW model car.

Honestly he was too boastful and braggy all day long and I think it was his strategy for getting our feelings.

The client was great telling stories with his so called family and his properties and company. He also added he made a purchase with top of the line BMW model. Ask me and this guy is really good at it and it was seems too effortless on his part.

Once we're on the company's head office we went inside a conference room with my friend's godfather and presented everything to my friend's client.

After the presentation he told that he was taking the most expensive package of the company worth 70K peso and more than that he told us he was getting 4 times of it and later after a call from his mom he will make it 10x making a staggering 700K worth of package.

Talking about big time he was really nailing it. He's telling that he will make a managers check for it. Another phone call late around 6 in the evening and he told us he did make a reservation in the Crown hotel restaurant for dinner later at 7.

So we went there and gather our self up in that nice expensive restaurant. It was located way up to the top 5 floor from the underground parking lot.

He was insisting us to make a order and assuring us that he left his credit card on the reception and he will pay all the bills. No one of us really did an order and just waiting for him to order for us and later he ask that he will go out to a store to buy some sugar free drink for his mom who had diabetes.

So he ask if I could accompany him to the ground floor to buy. So we went there and pick up the drink. Once we're on the cashier he told me that he will look for a doughnut to buy. So he ask me for a cash because he doesn't have it in his wallet full of credit cards.

After I gave him the cash wew. He just left nowhere to be found. That's what I call an escape artist.

I was like waiting for several minutes. I was already wondering what really happens then I get back on the restaurant to talk with my friend telling that her client left me in the ground floor.

So it was like within an hour and he did not went back to us. From the ground floor waiting, I just thought we've been outsmarted. It was really a great lesson for us people who just wanted to do simple business with client.

Lesson I picked up from the experience.

Honestly I never experience this event before on my previous business transactions. So here's the lesson.

1. Don't trust people you don't know, specially people who you knew from social media.

2. Don't meet up if you're alone, just to avoid even worst incident.

3. Be very keen if the client really credible and trustworthy.

4. Don't be deceived by their looks even they carry a BMW catalog and bragging too much on his possession. Rich people tend not to project too much of luxury.

5. Don't lend anything to your client, cash or product it depends. But as much as possible aside from brochure don't ever lend them anything.

6. Beware if the client is taking advantage from you or asking too much favor. Being a little bit suspicious in some cases are not so bad.

Hopefully you get some good tips to avoid this things in setting up appointment to your client in your businesses.

He took a brave path of dropping out of college and find his way becoming a self made successful entrepreneur through selling Chestnuts and finally finding his gold mine producing fried seaweeds to many 7-Eleven branches.

Top Ittipat - "Tai Kae Noi" Owner
Noted :

  • 18th years old – His family went bankrupt – debts of 40 million Baht

And now He is 26th years old, earned 800 million Bath per year and employs 2,000 staff.
If you have time you can always watch this 2011 film "The Billionaire" a 2 hour movie to get the lesson of the story.

The path "Top" took is really a brave thing to do. Quitting his studies and facing uncertainty in the future didn't stop him down on pursuing on what he believes in.

There's so many lessons extracted from the movie here's just my list:

  1. He doesn't knew everything in the business he started but spite of that he still started and find his way what works for him and what's not through learning the process and mistakes.
  2. He trusted his inner voice within. Although his friend, girl friend and even his parents advises him, he still trusted his voice within and follow through. Good thing he trusted his guts.
  3. He collected his ideas around to works for him. I know information can overload your head but I think we should be picky on what's just fit for us. I know there's ton of good information out there.
  4. He leverage his idea and expanded it. Never heard of the "Forest Encircle Cities Strategy" that's why I researched it. That's what the power of leverage do.
  5. You should not quit trying even you got into different venture in life. The point is in the process you will find out what will not work and what's working, as long as you stay in the business you will find your way.

Gilas Pilipinas Big Heart

Just recently watch the game between Croatia and Philippines Gilas Pilipinas team in their first FIBA World Cup game in Spain.

It was a close game and talking about the heart of the Filipinos and despite their size disadvantage to their opponent Croatia, it may look an easy game for the other team but watch out these Filipino player has heart and they never gave up till the last minute of the game.

See link here with the game details https://ph.sports.yahoo.com/news/gilas-versus-croatia

Although Croatia won in an overtime game 81-78, it was still an impressive game by the under size Philippines team. I've been playing basketball in my hometown years ago and we had this Inter-Barangay leagues and when we say this kind of league, do expect big players will play on the court.

Surely I know the feeling of pounding by opponent 3-5 inches taller than you. These people can fly high and jump over you. It's no walk in the park in the game of basketball. If you don't wanna beat up badly, you got to fight and play hard no matter what.

Gilas had lost the game but they surely knows how to play with their heart. In life you need to show some toughness or else life will beat you off the court.

Get your heart right in everything you do and it may just give you things you aren't expecting.

The Voice "Lyca Gairanod" and A 9 Year Old Dream

I knew that this young girl "Lyca Gairanod" inspired so much people whom is watching her true story in a Filipino channel last night. I had a goose bumps watching and her performance in Youtube.

I never tuned-in to the singing contest "The Voice Philippines" but my aunt just told me that a show will be featuring a 9-years-old talented young girl named "Lyca Gairanod" who became champion of that contest.

We all been wanting a good life for our family and we always have our own dreams and aspiration in life. In Lyca's case, she kept dreaming despite being in a poor family.

If you lost that desire let this young girl become an inspiration because I really felt the heart. Who said boys don't cry, her story did made me cry a bit.

Regrets

I wish I can turn back the time..

I wish I did things differently..

- That would the things I might say with a feeling of sorry to myself.

Honestly it's not easy to handle this emotion but since you have no choice or you can't change what's already taken place the only thing that you can do is to move on and try to be the best person after such event.

Can you think of a particular person you wished you have kept? Think for a moment before reading further.

Why do you want to keep this particular person? What did you wish you could have done that might prevent such event from taking place.

Answering these question will probably gives you clues on how to handle your today and managing yourself in the present moment with a special person of yours.

Like I always said I pretty messed up almost everything I had before.  Before appreciating what I had today.

Sometimes you kept looking and looking for something good; that actually everything was already in place in front of you.

You just have to appreciate that's already been there. The nice people you had, your special someone or every opportunity you had right now.

One thing I learned from regrets is that whenever you had something that is handed to you by God. You have to appreciate it and thankful.

People who aren't thankful will keep losing people, opportunity and good relationship.

Value everything that you had and what you kept on receiving big or small. Appreciate the small stuffs because big stuffs will be given when you are so grateful with small.

If you don't value what you earn you will gonna keep losing it down the drain.

Value each time and day. Don't look at the years because it's already and always taking place. Instead learn to live in each present moment.

The best time to start practicing your gratitude is Now! Be humble, learn to say thank you and you love them.

Live today and keep doing what is good in spite of so many people who are doing the opposite thing.

Living The Passion

It's 1 o'clock in the morning as I've started writing this post. We just came from an event that me and my sister-in-law catered. It wasn't easy! Surely it's not walk in the park. Since we just started venturing into event organizing business.

Anyway it's not about the business itself that I'm stating with this post. But if you have a business that you love, you should certainly have no regret doing it. So here it goes.

Since yesterday I was contemplating on writing another blog about passion. Whenever I think about passion, this friend of mine always flash in my head. Her nickname was "Zai Red".

I already mentioned her in my previous post, see Pursuing Your Passion While In the Corporate World. I was too happy for her on arriving on the situation she's in right now. We were having this conversation about career and passion several months ago. It's like a balancing act between doing what you love and the idea of staying on her job.

Did you ever have the idea of starting something you're passionate about? Making people happy when you bake that finest cake, satisfying your client in the products you sell, getting the perfect smile in your photography, mind boggling your client in the art you designed, inspiring readers by your writings and amazing your audience when you sing that song. And one day you suddenly quit them. Why? Is it because you don't make it for a living or there are other more reason behind it?

Well read this clear, if you really love them come and push it. There's no harm on doing what you love. But patience, hardwork and discipline are essential. Specially if that's make you very happy.

Another friend of mine shared the humble beginning on how the famous band in the Philippines "Parokya ni Edgar" started. He told that the band was just making music out of love without even thinking of the money. They just wanted their music to be appreciated by the people; suddenly waking up one morning they were making a living out of it. These were just one of the million of great stories out there.

Some job make us inhuman, we're not robots right? we have feeling and love for what we do. If you're in that situation right now, start by making a baby step, do research, study on short courses about what you're passionate about. You have the power to do that just believe you can do it. Save some of your earning to get started. Plan it very well and trust your instinct.

I feel very happy for her and may she serve as inspiration to pursue your passion too. If you don't knew her yet you can try view her works on her profile here>>. A very passionate writer of romantic novels.

Photo by Zai at SM Batangas City
This photo was taken during her book signing happened in SM Batangas yesterday.

Romantic pocket books was her art. She was ruthless on pursuing on writing about it. I just don't know if she's obsess or what.

She's a vampire if you talk about her sleeping habits. She can write 3 books in a short period of time. I don't know how she did it but she did.

You may check his works in any Precious Pages Outlet in SM Malls.

The main purpose of writing this post is not for promotion but the idea of giving hope that you can do what you're passionate about.

Living for a purpose of love, doing the job out of love will makes you feel having no job at all.

Sometimes it take a shift of mind that our daily life should work that way. May you pursue yours and stretch does arms and legs to follow your heart.

If you found this inspirational please feel free to join me on the journey to living out loud and the freedom to do your thing.

Secrets Behind Good Vibes

Photo I taken along the Rd. in  Batangas

I merely noticed this billboard in a distance since I'm not wearing an eye glasses. Thank God that my eye vision still notice the word "Good Vibes".

Probably the first thing you think in the morning "Good vibes please!". Specially after having a bad day yesterday and when waking up on "Monday" before going to work, projects, deals and associates.

Yeah "Good Vibration" do attract more positive things but there's something behind it and by the end of this article you'll understand that there is something more behind than having good vibes.

How I wish that there's no more arguments, rejection, mistreatment, everything is peaceful, and everything fall as you planned it. Familiar with the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. As John sings the lyrics "You may say I'm a dreamer... that people are living for today, living life in peace and sharing the world.

You may watch this 6 minute video for enlightenment. Please do watch the video before proceeding.

Given that the world we live in is filled with negativity. For some people it may be difficult to live peacefully due to never ending issues in the society and to your own life.

I don't know if you find peace somewhere else. As peace is live within and not without.

Is it enough to have good vibration everyday to make living stress free?

Don't be sad if nobody understand you sometimes. It doesn't mean you're an outcast.

People really don't understand everything about you and they start telling what they think of you. Don't be hard on yourself. Be still and understand that you're the one that supposed to knew yourself.

Have a cup of smile everyday

A lot of people have negative vibration out there don't let yourself be affected. They should have nothing to do with you. Given that we can't totally avoid difficult people at times because they are part of our living.

Regardless of good vibes

Given bunch of bad scenarios, scene or situation in work, home, business and relationship. There are thing we can't control in life. That life unfolds every minute, day and decades. These are inevitable in life.

How can we stay in good vibration then despite of setbacks?

Patience was a factor but behind patience lays a good attitude and much more deeper. A person who tries to attain enlightenment.

I firmly believe that "Good Vibes" has nothing to do with a great feeling or good vibration but by understand himself deeply.  Once you figure it criticism, hate, egos, fear and other negative will repel on you.

Practice love and compassion, peace as this is the absolute in life.

Awakening the unconscious mind

Imagine this, life is like a theater show, there is a director along with the actor and artist. The whole crew is there and God was the producer.

The theater show should bring the moral value and meaning for the audience to benefit. Once the theater show did a good job he makes proud the producer.

You're the director who make the scene and your body is like an actor who make the scene comes alive.

Awakening from a deep sleep takes time.

Ask and you shall be given, Seek you shall find, the one who knocks the door shall be open. Matthew 7:7

Still having bad vibes? Within you is God and you have the power to keep moving against obstacles. You can start at the present moment and that is now.

Yesterday is History and Today is a Gift That's why it's called Present

Life happens all the time, many time it's very unpredictable. In an instant thing that you won't expect to happen will happen in a split moment.

What I realize during my visit to my high school and college teacher. Sadly it was their funeral. After I got off from work I decided to drop by. I first visited my high school teacher, there not so much guest that day as it was so early in the morning.

There is a relative who accommodate me while I'm viewing her in the casket. After that, my teacher's daughter came by and we had this very long and worthy conversation.
