The Absence of Judgment

Every person has its own judgement to everything. One person ability to make a statement based on one particular thing maybe different from the other person point of view.

When we see a person with imperfection on his appearance and attitude how do we describe him? The mere fact that we're describing him makes us start judging the person. Is it bad or not? I don't think so, but as we say something about it, our thoughts pick up stuff on the drawer.

We start by pulling out words, it may be good or bad and you're start throwing at it.

We have this natural tendency and often we're unconscious about it.

Look at this flower. On the first glance we see it beautiful right? Stare a little longer and you'll start describing this flower. By the color of it's petals, size of the stem, and quality of its leaf. Instead of just appreciating this beautiful creation for as it is.

There's so much thing in life that we should appreciate without elaborating the reason.

Unconsciously that's how we think on people or situation and other things in our life. We often do describe everything and further more this causes us to be more critical to people.

Yes sometimes we do or doesn't like people and that's our own natural judgement, the ugly thing about it is we let ourselves keep that in the conscious mind and we tend to carry this thoughts and feeling everyday until it reach to a point that you need to express it negatively.

Becoming free from being a judgmental person takes time and it takes a dose of enlightenment.

My 40 year old friend reminds me how he was so hard to other people and himself. As I was recalling, He told me a story when he was new in the company. That he used to be hard to people when he notice he was being bullied by his difference.

He always works in a place where he wants to be alone since nobody understand him. It was very hostile, He engaged in a fight with different person, each in different issues and situation.

He even thought of committing suicide many years ago but he always thought his family. A friend of his, a former catechist in church give him the enlightened words. When he heard the word it sinks in and transform the way he thinks. As today he still prefer to works on isolated place, he's back on his head now and he understand that there's an ego behind.

His unconscious mind experience a sudden shift and he now understand what happened before. Good thing about it even he was a hot tempered guy he recognize it in his self and he doesn't deny it. He know he needs to work on it.

He always taught me peace, love and compassion. The absence of judgment, the acknowledgment of hatred and pain without holding. You may read reference "zen mind pdf" here >>

Simple illustration of Ego that gives us the trouble

What is Ego?  You may think that ego is like your other self, it is more selfish, he's much more demanding and he always thought he's right. If you don't recognize this there would be so much issues everyday.

You'll recognize ego by having this inner voice talking to you. You cannot absolutely eliminate it but you can contain it by recognizing it on the present moment. The awareness of your ego will keep yourself being you.

Recognize that we're created by God. Because of love he created us. Love is God and he is in us. That I believe people should living today. Out of love we do our job, relationship, business and living.

In this noisy world, sometimes it's overwhelming. Having a deep sense of peace inside will help you live more and share more.
