The Voice "Lyca Gairanod" and A 9 Year Old Dream

I knew that this young girl "Lyca Gairanod" inspired so much people whom is watching her true story in a Filipino channel last night. I had a goose bumps watching and her performance in Youtube.

I never tuned-in to the singing contest "The Voice Philippines" but my aunt just told me that a show will be featuring a 9-years-old talented young girl named "Lyca Gairanod" who became champion of that contest.

We all been wanting a good life for our family and we always have our own dreams and aspiration in life. In Lyca's case, she kept dreaming despite being in a poor family.

If you lost that desire let this young girl become an inspiration because I really felt the heart. Who said boys don't cry, her story did made me cry a bit.

To give you an idea with this young girl watch her story here. It's a pretty long video feel free to skip some part if you wanted.

I'm not re-telling her life story here but just to summarize some of the lesson while watching her story.

  • If you have something in mind don't let other people get on your way on manifesting that dream into reality. Even it is your doubtful parents, friends or even neighbor.
  • Look yourself closely, your asset might not be your bank account or house but something just within you. I'm talking about your ability, talent, skills and God given things that can't be taken from you.
  • When opportunity knocks and you have a good feeling about it, you only had few hours to act. Don't let it go away. It maybe a simple yes or no.
  • Your circumstances in life might not be the case but your mindset. Like the case of Lyca's mother. A poor in wealth doesn't really necessary deserve a poor life forever. - Good thing her father was positive.
  •  Lyca became a champ in the contest doesn't happened overnight. It happens since he started singing in streets and houses. Meaning to say it takes hours of repetition to craft and develop his talent before she went in that big break. As John Maxwell said "Talent is Never Enough".
  • Always have a firm belief on yourself never be shy to ask people for help if you need too.
  • You don't need to be great to start, but you have to start to be great - Zig Ziglar

On the last note, many people has their dreams taken away not because they didn't have belief in their ability but because they gave in to those people who are dream eaters that kept bringing people down.

It's a good idea that sometimes you need to be deaf to these kind of people. Be just relentless of pursuing whatever your aspiration because at the end of life, it's not about them but it's always on how you used what is given to you in the beginning and that is living your "Life" fulfilled and happy.
